this applied to me especially, since i am partially deaf and read a lot in my younger years. i still struggle with proper pronunciations, only because i pronounce it how i read it and how it looks, because i don’t always hear how to pronounce it. luckily, it seems people teasing me for the way i speak now seems to be a thing of the past.
